“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

In a world that is ever changing, I love that my soul can find rest and reassurance in my Savior.
Jesus says in John 8:58, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!”
This was a radical statement made by Jesus. The religious leaders of His time were beside themselves and began picking up stones to throw at Him. Jesus was claiming to be God in this verse and they couldn’t believe that who they thought was “mere mortal” would say such a thing.
But we know that Jesus’ claim to be I Am, is the promise that He is “the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Our God is with us. He cannot go against His own nature and character. He is our loving, gracious, merciful, never changing, always pursuing, God.
And that will never, ever change.
That truth is like a balm to an aching soul. This world is not worthy of our faith in it. It is always changing, always disregarding, always failing, and always letting us down. And yet there are moments where we let the noise of the world decide for us which direction we move.
Jesus tells us we cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). We cannot listen to the world (sinful nature) and God at the same time. We cannot actively pursue God while being complacent to our sin. We must move towards our Never-Changing God and seek His forgiveness of our wrongs in order to grow in Him.
God doesn’t promise to remove temptations to sin from our lives, but when we turn our lives over to Him, His truth will give us the strength we need to face them (1 Corinthians 10:13) and the boldness to come before Him and lay it at His feet (Ephesians 3:12).
Sweet friend, Gods love for you will never change, no matter how far you think you’ve fallen, no matter how far you’ve run, no matter what circumstance you’re in. He is a God that loves without boarders. That has always been His nature from the very beginning and it will be His nature forevermore.
I pray you rest in that truth today.
Love,
Rachael
Amen!! ❤️❤️ To think I lived in a world without Him before, no wonder any and everything I chased wouldn’t (and couldnt) fulfill me. What an amazing God and I am so so grateful that in this “ever changing world” He always stays the same!!
